Okay, its been six months but this update should hopefully be of some interest to you. I've just finished Bankrupt Radio's first mix cd (believe it or not, its actually pretty good), "Friday Night Funk", a funkalicious 50 minute head shaggathon featuring 36 funky tracks in the mix. Click OFFLINE to (exclusively) listen to the first 9 minutes (warning 9MBs) or check out the full tracklisting here. If you'd like a copy of the cd then get in contact with me as soon as possible. This LTD Edition mix won't be around forever.

Sorry for the lack of an update last month. I was just really busy with university stuff and everything. Because of this, we move straight onto the November update. I've added four new albums to the Recent Recommends section; November's Artist of the Month is much-missed musical legend, Jeff Buckley.

September's band of the month are arguably the finest hip-hop act in the world right now, Jurassic 5. Go here to find out why. There are also some more weird and wonderful delights in the Recent Recommends section. And in case you were wondering (which you probably weren't), the next edition of Bankrupt Radio has been postponed indefinitely (fancy that happening).

*NEW SITE ADDITIONS*

As you'll probably have noticed, we have some new additions to the site this month. Notably the band of the month sections. This month Scandinavian rock outfit Mew take the spotlight. The Recent Recommends section should round things off nicely with a couple of records which you may not be aware of and a few more which you definitely should.

*JUST CHILLIN' VOL. TWO*

We told you it was coming and it didn't take very long. Volume Two is arguably even more chilled out than the first but judging by the insanely hot (and alien) British weather, that's probably a good thing. Unfortunately, as with the first album (and until the record companies come a calling our way), you'll have to use your own initiative to get hold of the tracks yourself. Take a look at the new list here.

THE RETURN OF BANKRUPT TV!! - 4TH JULY 2003

Bankrupt TV officially returned on Independence Day as Andrew Watson and Patrick King went deep into the woods of Dorking for an exclusive insight into the life and history of the Yeti. Bankrupt TV would like to ensure viewers that while the two presenters were seriously injured both physically and emotionally by the events, no Yetis were harmed during the making of this documentary. In fact, the RSPCA was on hand through the entire filming process to make sure that the creatures were not harmed in any way in their natural habitat. Unfortunately, though, due to a pyrotechnics problem (involving an encounter with a particularly aggressive Yeti who was playing with fireworks - always a bad sign), the Manor of Mitchell Ullman was blown up within moments of the encounter. Our condolences go out out to entire Ullman family. Your son was a true saint (hahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) Only kidding.

BANKRUPT RADIO LIVE SESSION - 4TH JULY 2003

In addition to filming this quite gripping documentary on nature at it's worse, Andrew and Patrick also managed to record a 20 minute live acoustic radio session for broadcast in the near future. The session featured Andrew Watson on vocals, keyboards and beatbox and Patrick King on guitar and bongos. The full setlist comprised of the following:

  1. Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots (The Flaming Lips)
  2. Closing Time (Semisonic)
  3. Scooby Snacks - Schmoove Version (Fun Lovin' Criminals)
  4. Put Your Lights On (Santana feat. Everlast)

  5. Tribute (Tenacious D)

  6. Be Mine (David Gray)

BANKRUPT RADIO SUMMER SHOW

- Andrew Watson and Patrick King are currently planning a special extended summer special edition of Bankrupt Radio to be recorded in August. To see the planned playlist click here.

JUST CHILLIN' VOL 1.

(38 sun-kissed grooves to kickstart your summer)

Bankrupt radio is excited to announce our first compilation (compiled and mixed for your listening pleasure by DJ Yeti) 'Just Chillin'. And believe me, BK Radio wouldn't **** around when trying to make a good compilation album. This is probably the perfect selection to help relax you on a summer's day and we're gonna go out on a limb and say that if this was actually released to the general public, it would probably be one of the coolest collections of all time. The 2 CDs are made up of new tracks, classic cuts and exclusive breaks from a variety of different music styles such as rock, hip-hop, funk and chillout; featuring the likes of Frank Sinatra, Fun Lovin' Criminals, Badly Drawn Boy, Beach Boys, R.E.M, N.E.R.D, Barry White & Jurassic 5. Unfortunately, at the moment, all we can do is give you the track listing so you can download…sorry, buy them and compile the album yourself. Just trust us on this one, it will be worth your time and effort. To see the complete tracklisting, click here. Look out for volume two - coming soon.
