PRESS RELEASE - JUNE 2002
The Plot:
June 1998: Two friends, Sebastian Cisco and Jessica Summers break into the mansion of millionaire businessman Vincent Anderson. Unfortunately, their plans are thwarted when one of them accidentally alerts one of his security guards and they are sent to prison.
5 years later, Vincent has passed away and his son David has taken over his company ‘Anderson Enterprises.’ He is seemingly one of the world’s richest men. A new computer has just been showcased and it seems he’ll be even richer by the end of the year. He has the glitz, the glamour and the wealth but this is all about to change.
As he arrives to work one day, he is arrested for stealing a quarter of his company’s £500 billion fortune. He pleads his innocence but video evidence suggests that he did in fact commit the crime. He is sentenced to twenty years in jail.
However, during his first night in jail, the two criminals, Sebastian and Jessica, who have since been released, break him out. They make him an offer which he can’t refuse – if he helps them break into his father’s house, they will hand over video evidence proving he was elsewhere during the time the crime was committed. He agrees and goes off to secretly meet with his secretary Jennifer Freeman, to claim key cards to the building.
Meanwhile, alcoholic detective, Whitmore and his young partner Noxon are hot on the case, frantically attempting to find out Anderson’s whereabouts and Sebastian has to deal with the arrival of old school friend William Wong.
As both the two criminals and David soon learn, in the game of crime, you can trust no one. As they are plunged deeper into the world of dodgy dealings, they have to ask themselves several questions: Are Sebastian and Jessica who they say they are? Does David truly trust them? They each have their motives but which are genuine. They’ll need to deal with all the New York gangsters, bitchy co-workers, extreme emotions, unhelpful police officers and jealous partners that come with the job. Who’d have thought this much happens in the city of Guildford?
Current Status:
To date, 4 scenes of ‘bankrupt’ have already been filmed, featuring among others Mr. Jack Shanks starring as David Anderson and myself as Sebastian Cisco. I f you’d like to download the first official scene featuring myself and Jack (complete with a musical soundtrack courtesy of Morcheeba), or fancy checking out Jack’s homage to ‘The Evil Dead’ trilogy, log on to James's site at- http://212.228.29.89/Movies.html
Click on the FTP link to download the movies or follow the on-screen instructions so you can download the correct software. Alternatively, just gaze at the exclusive pictures of Jack’s struggle with insomnia or quite possibly the scariest picture you’ll ever see of me. This site should be updated whenever we can be bothered to update it i.e. never.
We aim to finish the movie in the first half of 2003 but we said that 2 years ago about 2001, so don’t get your hopes up (not that they were). Shooting officially commenced on 26 January 2002 and should officially re-commence mid June 2002 (N.B. 25/08/02: this didn't happen). I only recently completed the script (29/05/02), having completed the first draft of the screenplay way back in 2000. It’s taken 4 years, so it really should be good.
The Cast:
As explained earlier, Jack is already confirmed as David and I am currently filling the shoes of Sebastian. There are also confirmed appearances from Martin Pugh, Tony Adams (don’t worry it’s only a cameo- sorry Anthony), Chris Bampfylde and many others you won’t have heard of. Daisy North is currently unconfirmed to play Jessica Summers. Let me know if you’re interested in joining the cast.
Cheers
Andrew Watson
